Seeding Programs

To establish a new lawn on bare ground, follow these steps for the best results
1) Apply Fast Acting Lime at 30 lbs per 8,000 sq. ft. Cultivate and smooth the to a depth of 4-5 inches.
2) Select proper grass seed (Consult Sweeney Seed store experts). Spread seed at proper rate and lightly rake into top 1/4 inch of soil.
NOTE: Spring seeding in sunny areas apply 9-8-9 Fertilizer plus Dimension Crabgrass Preventer June 1 or at least 4 weeks after germination. Very shady areas do not need crabgrass controls since crabgrass needs sun to germinate.
3) Apply Lawn Starter Mulch or PAM 12 for superior moisture retention and erosion control.
4) Apply 12-24-14, 50% Meth X 40 starter fertilizer.
5) Lightly water everyday until seed germinates.

1) Spot Spray broadleaf and grassy weeds with Round-up or equivalent. Wait 7 days. Trimec can be used to selectively control broadleaf weeds out of desirable grass but you must wait 2 to 3 weeds to seed.
2) Mow lawn down to 1 inch and rake clean. Core aerate to relieve compaction and open holes for seed.
3) Select grass seed (Consult Sweeney Seed store experts). Apply seed with a spreader or, for best results, use a slit seeder.
4) Apply 12-24-14, 50% Meth X 40 starter fertilizer and Organica Microbial Soil Conditioner.

5) Cover the seed lightly by raking soil over the top of the seed.
6) Lightly water everyday until seed germinates.

1) Clear and loosen spot thoroughly, then apply 1/2 inch of The Real Soil.
2) Select proper grass seed (Consult Sweeney Seed store experts). Spread seed and lightly tamp into top 1/4 inch of soil.
